This alignment and the rest of the building was designed by I.M.Pei. It is said to have the best concrete in North America. If you are wondering why the best concrete in America is not the best in the world, well you must not have been to Japan. But don't worry I didn't know this till a week ago. We were talking about the museum in my drawing class and the teacher mentioned the concrete. Hyun leaned over to me and whispered, yeah but it is still nothing like they have in Japan. Since then I have heard it mentioned twice more, always with an envious, deferential tone.
Both upstairs and down from the lobby are the galleries and a few of you might remember me recounting my first trip to Cornell. The tour guide took us to the top where there is a 360 degree view of Ithaca, it was a major selling point.
